I met Kanès as I was taking pictures in violin maker Jean-Christophe Graff's workshop. He was there for a three months internship, organized by a partnership between Strasbourg and Jacmel, a little town in South-Est Haïti where he lives. he works there at Dessaix-Baptiste Music School as a oboe teacher and repairs the stringed instruments.
